At the beginning of the year, we responded to a call for evidence of positive practice to help illustrate how services can deliver more effective mental health care.
This came from ‘The National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health’, a commissioned service from NHS England and NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) in order to realise the ambitions of the ‘Five Year Forward View for Mental Health and Future in Mind.’
The ambition, to develop guidance for commissioners and providers of children and young people’s mental health services to ensure better access to mental health care.
The project involves developing access and waiting time standards for services, informed by an Expert Reference Group, NICE guidelines and data on current service provision. The guide aims to promote connections across multiple agencies and will outline the specific principles, functions and requirements needed to deliver better mental health care for children, young people, and their families and carers.
Due to all the hard work and dedication of our staff, we have recently been informed that our Caring to Care service will be included on the directory as an example of positive practice in the delivery of mental health services for children and young people.
